Do you really know what a cyborg is, or is your knowledge based on sci-fi series? Is it a next step in ‘mankind’, or is it a passing artistic trend? Now is your chance to find outbecause our guest speakers are: Neil Harbisson, who is the first person in the world legally recognized as a cyborg by a government, and Moon Ribas, who developed and implanted online seismic sensors in her feet that allow her to feel earthquakes through vibrations.

Neil Harbisson , cyborg artist and the first person in the world with an antenna implanted in his skull, and Moon Ribas,  currently residing in New York, are the founders of Cyborg Arts, a platform for the research, creation and promotion of projects related to extending and creating new senses and perceptions by applying technology to the human body.

In this lecture, you will learn more about their practice as cyborg artists and the process that drove them to co-found the Cyborg Foundation.  They will explore possible approaches to the union between our species and technology, the extension of the human senses through cybernetics, and the ethical dilemmas inherent in merging our bodies with big tech.

You are welcome to ask your lingering questions about, for example, data ethics, artificial intelligence, or what it means to be human, via the chat box during the livestream.
