The film tells the famous story of the three musketeers and, of course, D'Artagnan. Charles D'Artagnan arrives in Paris trying to find his attackers after being left for dead, which leads him into a war where the future of France is at stake. But before he can continue his search for the truth behind the attack, he finds himself at odds with all three of the King's Musketeers. With so many different forces vying for the crown, the loyalty of the Musketeers is called into question.

Please note that this film has Dutch subtitles and is mostly spoken in French!

Genre: action, adventure, drama
Language: multilingual (mostly French and some English), subtitles: Dutch

Paris, 1627. Young Charles D'Artagnan is left for dead after trying to rescue a young woman who has been kidnapped. Arriving in Paris, he does everything in his power to find his attackers. Little does he know that his search will lead him into the heart of a war where the future of France hangs in the balance. Together with Athos, Porthos and Aramis, the King's three Musketeers, D'Artagnan braves the dark intrigues of Richelieu's Cardinal. But it is when he falls madly in love with Constance Bonacieux, the queen's confidante, that D'Artagnan finds himself in real danger. In fact, this puts him on the trail of his nemesis: Milady de Winter.

It is rare that an epic film like this is made in Europe. This is not the American version of the famous French story, but it lacks nothing in entertainment or visual beauty, and boy is it worthy of the big screen! This retelling of the famous story is both spectacular, funny and highly entertaining.

Please note: This film is the first part of a diptych. The second and final part, The Three Musketeers: Milady, will be released later.
