When a young woman receives the absurd news from her father that he's had enough of life and wants it to come to an end, she is forced to search for a way to deal with his last wish. But is it possible to understand someone's choice when that choice goes directly against your desire or interest?

Language: Dutch, subtitels: English

Iris and her brother Ivan struggle with their father’s decision to step out of life. Not because he is affected by unbearable suffering, but because he wants to avoid that. Iris has the greatest difficulty accepting the situation, while her brother and his wife focus mostly on practical matters.  Iris deviates from their seemingly well-oiled script. She tries everything in her power to dissuade her father from his decision, or at least get an answer to the one and only question that really matters to her: why?

Reviews
“This wry Comedy raises pointed questions about death. An intriguing film, which examines the issue with humor and pathos.”  Tribeca Film Festival.

“Floor van der Meulen dives subtly and without excessive heaviness into the heart of respect for free will in the choice to live or die.” Cineuropa.

“Despite a story that’s about learning to let go, “Pink Moon” leaves one with something to hold onto.” The Moveable Fest.

“The story is beautiful, small, sad and, above all, understated and tastefully portrayed. Exactly as it should be.” 4****-rating Volkskrant
