Discover the possibilities of fermentation in this hands-on workshop. Learn how simple ingredients can be transformed by microorganisms, make several ferments yourself, and take them home to enjoy.
Fermentation can transform the simplest ingredients into something entirely new. It creates surprising flavors and helps preserve food, and offers endless possibilities for experimenting in your own kitchen. In this workshop, you will discover the basics of fermentation by getting hands-on yourself.
Together, we will prepare several different ferments, using some ingredients from Wildcultuur’s young food forest or plants growing in the wild. Along the way, you will learn more about the fermentation process and how you can continue experimenting with it at home.
At the end of the workshop, you will take home three different projects: a pine soda, a sourdough starter, and lacto-fermented vegetables. All materials and ingredients are included.
