Floating sounds fascinate. An approaching siren suddenly dies after passing; everybody recognizes that. For almost a century, there are music lovers who swoon away at the magical sound of the Lesliebox, going together with the equally legendary Hammond organ like salt goes with a boiled egg. Just like the passing siren the Lesliebox captivates because sound that moves varies in pitch, tone and volume.
Sound Artists Horst Rickels and Robert Pravda have spent a week experimenting in the Gaslab at the TU/e with these phenomena to come to a sound experiment you simply must undergo acousticly. Space and sound are inseparable in this project.
