Blauwe Zaal, Auditorium

The European Union is moving rapidly towards an electricity system with a large share of wind and solar energy production. Matching supply and demand in such a system requires completely new approaches. What will be the role of grid extension, demand response, energy storage and flexible supply? Prof.dr. Kornelis Blok (UU)  / Ecofys talks about the organization of the future electricity market and the viability of having large shares of renewable energy in the electricity system.
Experimental physicist Kornelis Blok is an expert in energy efficiency improvement, renewable energy and climate change.
