Emerging technologies like 3D printing are causing a shift in the built environment towards multidisciplinary work teams. Artist and innovator Daan Roosegaarde is a pioneer in this field: he explores technology in the broadest sense to create innovative social designs like Smart Highways and Sustainable Dance Floors.

This keynote lecture is part of the congress Shifting Perspectives organized by CHEOPS, the study association of Architecture, Building and Planning at the TU/e. The congress focusses on three subtopics: Quality of Life, Smart Living Environments and Sustainable Transformation.
