If we want to mimic the brain for the development of future technologies, we need to know much more in detail what is happening in our incredibly well organized brain.

Prof.dr.ir. Bart ter Haar Romeny (emeritus professor at TU/e) works in the field of Biomedical Image Analysis and the development of clinical applications. He discusses recent groundbreaking developments in brain imaging research and explains what we can learn from new insights into the brain to train the artificial brain – software and hardware with cognitive abilities. For example, inspired by the brain – the pattern recognition machine – he develops software to detect tumors.

The lecture Hazing & Humiliation by dr. Liesbeth Mann is canceled due to personal circumstances of the speaker. This lecture will return at a time yet to be determined.
