Banksy is known for his often political and wry humorous artworks, in which he uses the template technique. His street art can be found in cities around the world, but especially in Europe and manages to get publicity with various stunts. Banksy is also the creator of the much-discussed 2010 documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop.

There are no more places available for this event. It may be possible to obtain a ticket at the entrance, but we’re not able to guarantee it.

Despite his political role in society, Banksy's identity is still a mystery. Banksy started his street art career on the streets of Bristol in the ‘90s. By using templates, he was able to prepare much of his work at home so that placing his work on the street didn’t take much time. Running from the police is still daily routine for street artists.

You may remember Banksy's shredder which he used a few years ago to prove he’s a serious, important artist. The self-destructing masterpiece was the art world’s funniest joke. Was it really an act of sabotage or has it doubled the piece’s value?

Who is Banksy, where does he come from and where is he going? Find out from Krzysztof Dobrowolski-Onclin during this lecture!
