After years of reckless, destructive behavior Cheryl makes a rash decision. With absolutely no experience, she hikes more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, alone.

Drama
Jean-Marc Vallée, VS 2014
Language: English, Dutch subtitles

The Pacific Crest Trail runs through California from Mexico to Canada. In 1995, in the wake of her mother's death from cancer, Cheryl Strayed walked 1,100 miles of the route. Her best-selling memoir, Wild: A Journey from Lost to Found, offers a roadmap for Jean-Marc Vallée's adaptation.

Reese Witherspoon plays Cheryl. Her mum's death has prompted a crisis. She dabbles with heroin and courts sex from strangers. Her ex-husband, Paul doesn't know how to help her. Grief has revolutionized her in the worst possible way. It'll take something monumental to bring her back. Something like a 1,100-mile hike through the wilderness.

*Rotten Tomatoes: ‘This movie is a gift. It’s also a journey’
