Moonlight is an American drama set in a rough neighbourhood in Miami. The film follows three episodes in the life of a young African-American man who struggles with his identity, masculinity, sexuality, and place in the world.

This gripping drama means the definitive breakthrough of director Barry Jenkins and is based on the unpublished play ‘In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue’ by Tarell Alvin McCraney. Together with producers Adele Romanski and Brad Pitt, it was adapted to a screenplay. The main characters are played by Mahershala Ali (House of Cards) and Trecante Rhodes (Westworld). Moonlight has been celebrated in national and international press and nominated for 8 Oscars. It won Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Adapted Screenplay.

The Guardian ***** - “a moving, mysterious dance to the music of time”
