This is not your standard music documentary. But then again, there is not much standard about David Bowie: not about his music, his performances nor the creation of different characters such as Ziggy Stardust, Major Tom, and the Thin White Duke.
Through concert footage that has never been shown before and his best songs, this film creates an outstanding image of one of the most iconic, influential and world famous rockstars of all times. The film explores Bowie's rise to global fame in the early 70's and the birth of his persona. From raucous live stage performances to televised interviews about his rainbow makeup, his fashion and sexuality, full of questions and answers and then questions again, pivots around one central question: what made David Bowie?

This film is recommended by the Studium Generale film committee because.... "It’s F-in David Bowie!!! This documentary film about Bowie actually blew my mind. I It was one hell of  an art piece. I have never seen a documentary film  so artistic like this one; the creative elements matched Bowie’s work perfectly. In addition, he also has a very beautiful view on life and the universe. If you are interested in spirituality, this is definitely a film for you as well! ”
