On August 7th, 1974 Philippe Petit gives the world a show that everyone would have considered to be unthinkable until then. The French tightrope walker spends 45 minutes going back and forth on a tightrope between the Twin Towers in New York . And the walk was the easiest part! The project was preceded by years of preparation. Philippe and his friends had to figure out how they could avoid being seen by security with their enormous lode of material, how they would strap the rope between the buildings and how to get on it without being caught.

When Philippe saw the towers being built, he decided some day he would walk between the two buildings on a rope. After seven years of preparation, including eight months in New York, his big moment arrived. After almost being caught countless times, Philippe finally get on the cord. His dream has come true ...

In 2009 this documentary won an Oscar for Best Documentary.
