Scientist Alma will spend three weeks as a test person with her ideal husband Tom. Tom is, in fact, a new model robot that, based on seventeen million mapped human preferences, can satisfy all her desires. In theory, that is...

Language:  German, subtitles:  English

Forty-something Alma is a maverick who is not at all out for a relationship, let alone predictable happiness. And so, Tom's slick looks and smooth-talk backfire.

Prep for a nice (anti-)romcom that ridicules genre clichés, muses on humanity and love, and on the value of happiness.

The film raises some interesting questions about human interaction and our ideas of the perfect relationship. Can an AI learn to become our ideal partner in life? Is this the answer to overcome loneliness in a world in which algorithms can know us better than our human partners ever will? Or will there always be something missing?

Reviews
