Many of you took the opportunity to vote via our social media for your favorite December Classic movie: Jaws vs. E.T.
The cute little fellow turned out to be the absolute winner.

And who doesn't have childhood memories of the iconic image of a bike flying in front of a moon and of a bony alien finger lighting up to call home?

Spielberg’s all-time classic “E.T.” was originally released in the summer of 1982. E.T. The Extra- Terrestrial is now celebrating 40 years on earth. The film captured the hearts of audiences around the world, and forty years later it still manages to evoke the sense of fun, wonder, curiosity, magic and sadness from your childhood.

This film will be preceded by a short introduction.

Reviews
It still feels timeless and pure as few films do. ET is a plea for emotional growth, for people to summon their best selves when it really matters. Children can do it, and adults can relearn if necessary.” The Guardian.

“E.T., the Extra-Terrestrial is, quite simply, a great movie. … Laughter, tears, involvement, thrills, wonderment. Steven Spielberg also adds a message: Human beings and spacelings should learn to co-exist…” Bob Thomas of Associated Press
