Put on some glitter and a wig and join us for this candy-colored, plastic-fantastic, extremely funny, wild ride of a film.

Genre: adventure, comedy, fantasy
Language: English, subtitles: Dutch

With ever-blue skies, pastel pink houses, and all the fashionable fun a doll could want, life in Barbie Land is perfect - unless you're having an existential crisis. And Barbie (Margot Robbie) just happens to be having one. When her questions lead her out into the real world, Ken (Ryan Gosling) isn't far behind, and the two soon discover the joys and perils of living among humans.

This film is an unlikely but successful collaboration between Mattel (makers of Barbie) and Little Women director Greta Gerwig. If there's anyone we can trust with this cultural icon, it's Greta.

Barbie with introduction on Wednesday
On Wednesday, January 17th, Barbie will also be screened, preceded by an introduction by Dana Linssen, film critic for the Dutch daily newspaper NRC and Filmkrant. On Wednesday, bachelor students can register for USE/ITEC. If you want to buy a ticket for Wednesday, click here.
