Veritas Forum: How do we decide what is right? An interactive discussion about morality.

Murder, theft and rape are prohibited by law, but we also know it is ethically wrong. Furthermore, we try to calm a crying baby, we stand up for elderly and pregnant woman in the bus and donate money to aid organizations. Do we know this and act on it intuitively – is it in our nature – or because of the standards and values we have learned from our relatives? Is God necessary for morality? What determines our moral thinking and acting?

In this Veritas Forum, two experts give their view on these questions from different perspectives. Together with the audience they discuss the origin of morality and the role of family, friends, society and religion. On the basis of topical societal issues and practical examples we examine our own moral thinking and acting.
