Growing older, losing control and trying to figure life out. Join us at Parktheater to see breakdance collective 155 combine spectacular moves, physical comedy and absurd humor in the award-winning performance CONTROLE.
Panic attacks, empty pockets, unreliable friends, aching knees and algorithms that seem to know you better than you know yourself. How much control do we really have over our lives?
The members of breakdance collective 155 (éénvijfvijf) have been friends since childhood. Now in their thirties, they’re facing a familiar dilemma: should they finally get a grip on life, or try to stay free forever?
In CONTROLE, that struggle takes a physical turn. The performers find themselves on a floor that keeps moving beneath their feet. Combining spectacular breakdance, physical comedy, live music, film and wonderfully weird humor, they explore what happens when life refuses to go according to plan.
The result is a chaotic, funny and surprisingly relatable performance about growing older, dealing with expectations and figuring out who you want to be.
CONTROLE won the Golden Cricket in 2023 for the most impressive stage production in Dutch youth theater.
Join us for an evening at Parktheater Eindhoven and discover what happens when you lose your grip.
What the critics say
"CONTROLE is a showcase of theatrical inventiveness and superior slapstick." Het Parool
"Think Jiskefet, think Jackass, think Maaskantje and think breakdance. Or is it mime, comedy, contemporary dance? Breakdance collective 155 is all of these things, and yet not quite any of them." NRC Handelsblad
"On three conveyor belts, they pull off the wildest stunts. From backflips to splits and somersaults, all with seemingly endless energy." I Love Theater ★★★★
"Sick skills and a weird sense of humour." Theaterkrant
