Get ready for this out-of-space experience: live music on basis of Saturn-waves plus a lecture by astrophysicist Claudia Mignone plus a workshop with telescopes. Go Extra Terrestrial!

There are no more places available for this event. It may be possible to obtain a ticket at the entrance, but we’re not able to guarantee it.

Sounds of Interstellar Space is an experience: being immersed in the mysterious world of the universe, where music and science merge. Accordionist Rik Cornelissen, vibraphonist Vincent Houdijk and double bass player Maciej Domaradzki together form TRIFID and take you on this trip.

The title piece is written on the basis of waves recently caught by NASA and ESA in the vicinity of Saturn.

Before the concert starts there will be a lecture by astrophysicist and writer Claudia Mignone, who works at ESA / ESTEC.

The evening will be concluded with a workshop observing, including telescopes and, in clear weather, actually zooming in on celestial bodies.

The performance starts close to ourselves, on Earth. We will zoom in on the place where we are at that moment, where you will be taken on a journey far beyond the edge of our solar system. The speakers talk about the stars, planets and the phenomena behind the compositions. And the musicians make their interpretation sound. The music of Sounds of Interstellar Space sounds inquisitive and spatial and is influenced by classical music, jazz and tango. Lyrical music full of improvisation, with the universe as the basis for all compositions. Your source of inspiration cannot be bigger.

This program will take place in Corona, Luna building at TU/e campus. To find the location check this page for route and map.
