Politician, provocateur, research journalist, activist, anti-Putin, and former opposition leader of Russia: All of that is Alexei Navalny. This spine-chilling film could have been the best spy thriller of this year, if everything that happens was not actually true.
Language: English-Russian and other, subtitles: English
Navalny did not only survive the attempt to poison him, but also went looking for evidence that the Kremlin actually was involved in causing his life-threatening physical condition. This nerve-racking hunt for evidence, in close collaboration with a very persistent Bellingcat researcher, several news outlets, and his very own team, is impressive and almost unbelievable.
Film director Daniel Roher was lucky to be at the right place at the right time with his camera team, giving us an intimate insight into the mind of a very brave and charismatic opposition leader, who is currently still imprisoned in a Russian gulag.
This film will be followed by a Q&A.
