Ryan Coogler (director of ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Creed’) comes up with a new take on fear in his first original blockbuster Sinners, starring Michael B. Jordan. To escape their troubled lives, two twin brothers (both played by Jordan) return to their hometown to start over. But there an even greater evil turns out to await them. “If you dance with the devil, he follows you home one day,” says Jordan.
And speaking of dancing: music plays an important role in the film. According to the introduction of Sinners, there is music so pure it can connect us to both our history and our future. It can even pierce the veil between life and death.
