A famous horror writer finds inspiration for her next book after she and her husband take in a young couple.

Because of the lockdown the movie program has been cancelled. We hope to welcome you again at our films in Natlab in Q4.

Language: English – subtitles: Dutch

Fred and Rose move to a small town in Vermont in hopes of finding a job for Fred. The young couple is offered to move in with professor Stanley Hyman on the condition that Rose takes on the housekeeping, and watches Hyman’s wife – the infamous horror author Shirley Jackson.

Even though Rose is disturbed by the unusual household of the eccentric couple, a special bond develops between her and Shirley. A bond that puts a serious strain on the marriage of the young couple.

Shirley is a psychological drama with Elizabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale, Mad Men), and premiered at Sundance film festival, where it won the Dramatic Special Jury Award for Author Filmmaking.
