Eindhoven University of Technology is celebrating its 70th anniversary. During the festive Lustrum Week, Studium Generale screens the first episode of the four-part documentary series 70 Years of TU/e: Curiosity Connects, followed by a short interview with Rector Emeritus Prof. em. Dr. Ir. Hans van Duijn.
Please note: Simon van Teutem’s lecture How Brilliant Minds End Up in Meaningless Jobs was originally scheduled for this time slot. The lecture has been rescheduled to Wednesday afternoon, November 25.
The first episode will take you back to TU/e's pioneering years, 1956-1970: the opening by Queen Juliana, the first students, academic programs and buildings, and the emergence of student associations, Studium Generale, and the Sports Center. Discover personal, first-hand anecdotes and unique materials from the university archives.
After the screening, presenter and producer of the documentary series, Cindy de Koning, will have a brief conversation with Rector Emeritus Prof. em. Dr. Ir. Hans van Duijn, TU/e's longest-serving rector (2005–2015), about three of the most significant moments in the university's history.
