Put your work, deadlines and thoughts aside for a moment and drift away on the beautiful classical Spanish sounds this afternoon.
It has become a new tradition for Studium Generale: in the week before exams start, we offer a lunch concert to ease your mind and feed it with beautiful music. This time the classical guitarist Glenn de Roo is in the spotlight. He will play the following four pieces:
· Asturias - Isaac Albéniz
· Suite Castellana - Federico Moreno Torroba
· Capricho Arabe - Francisco Tárrega
· Danza Española 5 - Enrique Granados
Glenn de Roo is a guitarist who has mastered multiple genres, periods and styles. He began his musical career at the Conservatory in Tilburg (Academy for Music and Performing Arts) with the internationally renowned guitarist and composer: Marlon Titre. After two successful years in Tilburg, he went to Palma de Mallorca to study with Pedro Mateo Gonzalez and Carlo Marchione (two absolute giants in both guitar and music) at the Conservatori de Les Illes Balears. Currently, Glenn is in the fourth year of his bachelor’s degree in classical guitar and is studying again in Tilburg with Gaëlle Solal from Marseille. In addition to his concerts, Glenn has been giving guitar lessons to both children and adults since the start of his studies.
