LaPiratesse doesn't just play songs. Each one tells a story and creates its own little world, sometimes dreamy and mesmerizing, sometimes bold and confrontational. Combining live music, spoken word and theatrical elements, the Antwerp-Dutch collective invites you to listen, watch and think beyond the ordinary.
Music with something to say
Led by Inez, a performer, activist and creative driving force, LaPiratesse explores big questions about the world we live in. How do technology and inequality shape our lives? What do gender and identity mean today? And what might the future look like? Rather than giving you ready-made answers, LaPiratesse uses music and imagination to explore these questions in surprising ways.
Their sound is just as adventurous, mixing pop, jazz, contemporary classical and influences from around the world. Think of the experimental spirit of Björk, the storytelling of Kae Tempest and the theatrical flair of David Bowie.
For this special performance, LaPiratesse takes a more intimate approach, with live harp accompaniment. A chance to experience their music up close, in a setting that lets every word and sound stand out.
