An ambitious fusion of the legendary American movie Koyaanisqatsi and the intense, powerful but fragile music of Brussels-based post-rock quartet We Stood Like Kings, inspired by the likes of Pink Floyd, Chopin and Mogwai.
In a collection of expertly photographed phenomena with no conventional plot Koyaanisqatsi shows us the decline of nature at the hands of humans. An experiment with light, speed, sound and color. A hallucinatory auditory and visual trip, without one word of dialogue or explanation. The title is taken from the language of the Native American Hopi tribe and means as much as 'Life unbalanced'. A film that needs the big screen to truly do it justice.
Following their previous releases BERLIN 1927 (Symphony of a Great City-Walter Ruttmann) and USSR 1926 (A Sixth Part of the World–DzigaVertov) and after more than 230 concerts in 20 countries, the four young musicians have now become the benchmark within their field in the European scene.
