Learn how you can use a photo to tell a story in pictures. Photographer Julius Schrank, who’s photographs frequently appear in the Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant, was the winner of one of this year’s World Press Photo Awards. His photo Krijgers uit Kachin (Kachin fighters), showing Burmese resistance fighters, won first prize in the category Daily Life Single. By means of his photos, Julius explains how you can create an authentic image and what elements you need to pay attention to. Under his supervision you can reflect and brainstorm together about the subject. At the end of the first evening you’ll receive a photo assignment and work on your own photo series. In the next lesson the results are discussed.
