Every day, light slips into darkness almost unnoticed. A missed opportunity, because twilight has something to show us. During Schemeren (Shimmering), you slow down and take in that transition. Together we watch Eindhoven shift, while an audio experience (in English or Dutch) invites you to see differently.

Writer and performer Marjolijn van Heemstra guides you through this transition: from golden hour into blue hour. As the light softens and colors cool, her voice draws your attention to what emerges in the in-between.

The term “Schemeren comes from a time when people delayed turning on artificial light for as long as possible, waiting for darkness to fall. What started as a way to save energy became a shared moment to close the day. It was a small transitional ritual in which work was set aside and evening rest began. That’s what we’ll do now too. We’ll simply sit and watch as darkness arrives.

So join us and discover how twilight can reveal what only the dark brings into view.

Schemeren is a collaboration with Parktheater.
