As raw and dark as metal music can be, it is also often melodic and sensitive. Today, Lead guitarist Bart Hennephof of the renowned Dutch progressive tech metal band Textures puts the electric guitar in the spotlight in this masterclass, demonstrating and explaining the versatility of the metal genre in a dazzling performance.

Uplifting and melodic riffs and licks, guitar effects that make guitar playing technically and musically challenging, and a bit of metal music history... it all comes up in this masterclass. Not just for die-hard metalheads and guitarists, but especially for anyone who wants to get inspired by electrifying guitar playing.
Bart Hennephof is guitarist and co-founder of the bands Textures (2001) and Amend (2023), a music composer and producer, guitar coach and Twitch streamer, and has been active as a professional for over 20 years. He holds a Master of Music degree from the HKU University of the Arts. Through his online platform Creative Music Lab, he offers expert courses, tutorials and masterclasses.
Known for their do-it-yourself approach (producing albums, artwork, and building their own studios), the band Textures was recognized as one of the first bands to develop the modern technical metal genre and quickly solidified their status as a must-see act at major metal festivals worldwide. The band has shared the stage with illustrious acts like Meshuggah, Sepultura, Gojira, Machine Head, and the Dillinger Escape Plan while touring around the world.
