Due to rumors in the nearby town about her as the “marsh girl”, she becomes more and more isolated. When she meets two young men everything seems to change. But then one of them is found dead and a mystery unravels.
This film is both a thriller and a beautifully shot drama. The miraculous story about individual resilience and the wonder of the natural world, is based on the eponymous bestselling novel by Delia Owens. The marshlands and swamps may be dangerous, but in this film, they are also magnificent and gorgeous. The true beauty of this film is best experienced on the big screen.
“Where the Crawdads Sing is a heartfelt and gorgeous picture.” Consequence.
“Where the Crawdads Sing is at once a mystery, a romance, a back-to-nature reverie full of gnarled trees and hanging moss, and a parable of women’s power and independence in a world crushed under by masculine will.” Variety.
“Daisy Edgar-Jones is the star here and gives an incredibly endearing performance”. Film Threat.
