Step into the story of innovation, architecture, and education during Open Monument Day 2026, where this year’s spotlight is on our unique and inspiring TU/e campus.
To celebrate the university’s 70th anniversary, we invite TU/e students, PhD- and EngD-candidates to join an exclusive guided walking tour that brings the campus to life: from its visionary beginnings in the 1950s to its dynamic present as a leading science and technology hub.
The TU/e campus is more than a place of study: it’s a carefully designed landscape of ideas, collaboration, and architectural excellence. During this 45-minute tour, you will learn more about the iconic buildings such as the brutalist Auditorium, the impressive Atlas building, and the award-winning Vertigo and Ceres.
From industrial-modernist origins to a contemporary science park with cutting-edge facilities and student living spaces, the campus tells an ongoing story of transformation, creativity, and connection.
This tour offers a fresh perspective on a place you may think you already know.
Two birthdays, one location: TU/e Open Monument Day 2026
In 2026, TU/e will mark its 70th anniversary, coinciding with the 40th edition of Open Monument Day Eindhoven. In this celebratory year, the municipality has announced its intention to designate three buildings and two public artworks as municipal monuments: a sculpture by Ad Dekkers, a floor mosaic by Jan Dijker, and the Auditorium, Gemini, and Ceres buildings.
The TU/e campus holds broader significance as well. Metaforum is already listed as a national monument, and several other buildings have received prestigious architectural awards. Together, they reflect the evolution of a dynamic educational and research environment that values its heritage while at the same time embracing renewal.
Ticket reservation: TU/e students, PhD- and EngD-candidates only
