Young Edmond Dantès, victim of a conspiracy, is arrested on his wedding day for a crime he did not commit. After fourteen years of imprisonment in the Château d'If, he manages to escape. He travels to the island of Montecristo, where he finds something. Edmond then decides to return home to take revenge on the three men who betrayed him, as the Count of Monte Cristo.
The beautiful French costume drama Le Comte de Monte-Cristo is based on the novel of the same name by Alexandre Dumas and has already received several awards, including two recent Césars. The film by directors Matthieu Delaporte & Alexandre de la Patellière had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival last year and was already a success both at home and abroad. In France alone, the film attracted more than 9 million viewers and internationally it is also one of the most watched French films of 2024.
