It's the return of everyone's favorite leche-loving, swashbuckling, fear-defying feline. Daring outlaw Puss in Boots discovers that his passion for danger and his disregard for safety have taken their toll. Puss has burned through eight of his nine lives, though he lost count along the way. Getting those lives back will send Puss in Boots on his greatest quest yet. Antonio Banderas' top-notch voice performance gives you one more reason to come see this film at Filmhuis De Zwarte Doos.

Puss in Boots embarks on an epic journey into the Black Forest to find the mythical Wishing Star and restore his lost lives. But with only one life left, Puss must humble himself and enlist the help of his former partner and nemesis: the alluring Kitty Softpaws. In their quest, Puss and Kitty are joined, against their better judgment, by a ratty, chatty, and relentlessly cheerful mutt named Perrito. Of course, these three heroes are not the only ones searching for the Star. And then there is a wolf…
This animated film from the Shrek universe is not only funny and visually surprising, it also offers some unexpected depth when Puss is down to his last life. What would you do if death was chasing you, and it turned out to be a giant wolf?
This film deserves the 3D big screen experience. The weapons are colorful, the dialogue is suave, and the giant wolf is terrifying, but the songs, and of course Puss, will make you smile.
This film is recommended by the Studium Generale Student Film Committee because: “We love the animation style. If you are looking for a way to unwind from the stress of studying, look no further than this traditional tale that shines with clever dialogue and beautiful visuals that look like they were hand-painted by Monet.”
Reviews
“The Last Wish is a minor miracle — visually daring, frequently funny, and surprisingly emotional.” Empire
“Breezily entertaining DreamWorks animation that harnesses the familiar appeal of the self-aggrandizing feline (Antonio Banderas), while also adopting a distinctive and original graphic visual style.” The Guardian.
"The Last Wish is visually gorgeous with an attention to detail you might not expect given it’s a sequel to a spin-off of a two-decade-old film.” Independent.
