This classic film is director Wong Kar Wai’s incomparable portrait of a quiet but passionate sensuality. The cinematography, the acting and the music make us experience deep and unspeakable feelings. Yearning has never looked so good.

Two neighbors form a strong bond after both suspect their spouses of extramarital activities. However, they agree to keep their relationship platonic so as not to commit similar wrongs.

An invisible dance is danced by Mr Chow (Tony Leung) and Mrs Chan (Maggie Cheung), who happen to be neighbors in an apartment building in Hong Kong in 1962. When they find out their respective spouses have lovers, the two find comfort in each other’s arms. Passions run high but are kept in check.

Awards
At Cannes Film festival the film won the award for Best Actor (Tony Leung Chiu-wai) and the Technical Grand Prize. It was also nominated for the Palme d’Or and BAFTA’s Best Film not in the English Language.

The screening of the film starts at 19:30 sharp (no pre-film advertisements)  and the cinema hall opens at 19:10. We kindly ask you to be at the ticket counter at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the film. This is to ensure the film starts and ends on time.
