The Brabanter

April 22 till May 12
Atlas building, ground floor, TU/e campus
Price: Free (Student) Free (Others)

The Brabanter is a fictional magazine inspired by the iconic cover pages of The New Yorker. The magazine itself does not exist, but the covers do. They are created by artists and illustrators from the region. Each cover offers a personal perspective on the province of Noord-Brabant.

In this exhibition you’ll see a wide selection of The Brabanter covers, together forming a layered portrait of Brabant and Eindhoven as a region shaped by the people who live, work and study here. Some illustrators grew up in the province, others arrived later and made it their home. Their different viewpoints sit side by side, inviting you to look again at a place you might think you already know.

Origins of The Brabanter
The Brabanter is initiated by Alessio Meroni (1986), an Italian expat who has been living in Eindhoven since 2017. By day he works as an engineer in the high-tech industry; alongside that, he runs this project as a passion project. Inspired by The Milaneser, a similar initiative from his hometown, Alessio created The Brabanter as a way to give something back to the region that welcomed him and that he now proudly calls home.

The exhibition can be seen in Atlas, ground floor, TU/e campus and is free and open to everyone.
