Dream Big, Europe!

Marwa Bouazzati en Alexandra Koutsaftis
Tuesday, December 8 , 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM
Kameleon, Parktheater Eindhoven

Europe is at a crossroads. It needs to become more self-reliant. But how do we get there?
Too often, public debate is dominated by anxiety and worst-case scenarios. This evening, we choose a different approach: imagination. After all, before we can build the future, we first need to be able to imagine it.

The program will be held in both Dutch and English.

What does Europe mean to us? Which values do we want to cherish and protect? What would an independent Europe look like if it were guided not only by economic growth and prosperity, but also by well-being, solidarity, and social cohesion? And what choices would that require?

During this interactive evening, political scientist Marwa Bouazzazi, winner of the Marc Chavannes Essay Prize, will share her vision of Europe and the challenges of our time. Afterwards, under the guidance of Alexandra Koutsaftis, we will roll up our sleeves ourselves. In a hands-on workshop, we will explore new ideas, perspectives, and dreams for Europe together.

Not Europe as it is, but Europe as it could be.

Join us to think, discuss, and above all, imagine.

Marwa Bouazzazi is a Political Science student at the University of Amsterdam and winner of the 2026 Marc Chavannes Essay Prize for her essay A Stronger Europe: Let’s Not Repeat the Mistakes of the Past. In it, she explores how Europe can thrive in a changing world order. What lessons can we learn from history? And what is needed for Europe to emerge stronger in the years ahead? Marwa will share her perspective and challenge us to think beyond today’s political realities.

Alexandra Koutsaftis is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and curator working between Athens and Eindhoven. A graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven, she combines performance, interactive design, and artistic research in her practice. During this evening, she will facilitate an interactive workshop in which we collectively explore what Europe’s future might look like.

You do not need any prior knowledge of European politics to participate.
Curiosity and a willingness to share your perspective are enough. You will gain insight into the challenges Europe faces, hear a range of viewpoints, and contribute your own ideas for the future.
The program will be conducted in both Dutch and English.

This event is organised in collaboration with Studium Generale Eindhoven, Helix, Parktheater Eindhoven and Het Huis van Actief Burgerschap Waalre & Eindhoven.
