Dozens of voices, infectious rhythms and powerful harmonies that give you goosebumps. Experience the energy of the Grammy Award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir live, together with your fellow students.
Some concerts are easy to imagine before you have even been there. This spectacular gospel concert probably isn’t one of them.
Before the concert, we’ll meet for a drink and short introduction by a member of the Muziekgebouw team. They’ll tell us more about Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, and the concert we are about to see. It’s a great chance to meet other students, explore one of Eindhoven’s cultural hotspot, and get a taste of what Eindhoven has to offer.
About Soweto Gospel Choir
The three-time Grammy Award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir is a South African gospel group that blends traditional African gospel with spirituals and contemporary influences. In their performance JOY, music, dance and faith come together in a celebration of hope and freedom. The program honors the legacy of Nelson Mandela with South African freedom songs and gospel harmonies, alongside music associated with artists such as Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela, Sam Cooke and Leonard Cohen.
Come with us, take your seat in the concert hall and let this wall of voices take over. You may not get another chance to experience something quite like it anytime soon.
