Casper Thomas is an editor at De Groene Amsterdammer, the oldest current affairs weekly in The Netherlands. He lives in Washington DC where he works as US correspondent for both De Groene Amsterdammer and Het Financieele Dagblad. He is the author of De autoritaire verleiding. Over de opmars van de antiliberale wereldorde (The authoritarian temptation. On the rise of the antiliberal worldorder), a 2018 book that investigates the appeal of authoritarian leaders and ‘illiberal democracy’.
