Photo impression | workshop organ playing

A group of students seized the unique opportunity to learn to play the huge organ in Auditorium during a two-sessions workshop.

The idea of having an organ in Auditorium came from Rector Magnificus Posthuma after the TU/e had received a donation of one million guilders (about 450,000 Euros) from Eindhoven’s electronics company Philips. The organ was realized in 1966 soon after the Auditorium had been built. It was built in such a way that it can handle organ music from all style periods. The workshop was led by the official university organist: Jan Verschuren, TU/e Electrical Engineering alumnus and also associated as organist at Leiden University.
