We enjoyed a beautiful and moving lunch break session when we entered the brave and musical world of pianist and former TU/e student David Hordijk. In 2021 David walked from Helmond via Santiago de Compostella to Finisterre in Spain, which literally means "the end of the world." The symbolism of this place and this journey by foot is that one must completely detach oneself from familiar surroundings and routines, such as going to and from work, in order to return more free.
David shared his personal story of the walk, why he set out, and what his journey brought him. Through crowdfunding, David raised money to ensure that he would find his own piano on the cliffs of Finisterre. With the help of friends who were willing to bring the piano from the Netherlands, he was able to give a concert and record a music video.
