Photo Impression | Debussy and Piazolla for Lunch

Two top musicians, pianist Anastasia Safonova and cellist Andrej van Brakel -- not only mother and son, but above all a very talented duo -- performed a beautiful lunch concert at Studium Generale. The audience enjoyed the adventurous sounds of the French impressionist Claude Debussy and the lyrical tango sounds of the Argentinean bandoneonist Astor Piazzola.

Highly rated
The concert was rated 4.82 (on a five-point scale) by respondents to the review form.

Some reactions from respondents
"It broadened my musical expertise, I myself am classically trained in piano and violin, however I haven't really had the time to play much these days. This play really fueled my desire to pick it up again."

"I enjoyed the music that was played with such passion. It evoked various emotions in me from humor to melancholy and passion."

"I really enjoyed this concert. Both were gifted performers, but the cellist was, I think, quite exceptional. I hope to hear more from him! I appreciated the variety of pieces and styles. I think that for a young student who may have never been to a classical music concert or knows very little about this world, this would be a good introduction, shaking off the common misconception that classical music is only soft and romantic."
