What happens when powerful photography meets cutting-edge scientific research? During Pictures and Professors: World Press Photo meets TU/e Science on 13 October, visitors discovered surprising connections between the stories behind some of the photographs in the World Press Photo Exhibition and research taking place at TU/e.
Equipped with silent disco headphones, participants explored the exhibition alongside five TU/e researchers. From climate justice and artificial womb technology to social robots, housing and access to education, each researcher offered a fresh perspective on a photograph, revealing how science and society are closely connected.
What did visitors think?
“Accessible, and a wonderful connection between culture and the research taking place at TU/e.”
“I have seen pictures like this before, but the in-depth contemplations of various researcher about the pictures, their own works and the common grounds between them made me look at them in an entirely new way.”
