Vacancy: student member SG Board Committee

Interested in doing something truly special during your studies at TU/e? As a student member of the Studium Generale Board Committee, you have the opportunity to directly influence the scientific, cultural, societal, and personal development of students, staff, and other visitors to the Studium Generale programs.

We are looking for two enthusiastic TU/e students who want to help shape the direction of our programming, which should not only be entertaining but also truly add value, broaden your horizon, and tempt you to step out of your comfort zone. It is a great opportunity to collaborate with some of the top professors and gain experience in governance and strategic thinking.

At Studium Generale (SG), we organize programs that attract over 20,000 visitors annually with a diverse offering of about 175 programs ranging from lectures and concerts to films, theater, and exhibitions. For Bachelor students, many SG programs can be attended as part of their study curriculum.

What will you do?
As a member of the Studium Generale Board Committee, you will have the chance to contribute to how we can increase our impact on the cultural and societal development and engagement of students and other visitors. You play an active role in guiding the vision and policy of SG, thereby contributing to the quality and image of our programs.

Who are we looking for?
We are searching for two enthusiastic students who:

  • Are students at TU/e.
  • Are preferably available for more than one academic year.
  • Have interest and commitment to the goals of Studium Generale.
  • Can think and advise on a broad level.
  • Can offer a critical perspective and are not afraid to share it.
  • Are willing to meet about four times a year and regularly attend various SG programs.

What do we offer?

  • A chance to collaborate with prominent professors and be part of the SG Board Committee.
  • The opportunity to gain administrative and strategic experience.
  • A significant role in shaping the cultural agenda of your university.
  • Membership on the board committee is unpaid, but you will get free access to all our paid programs.

Interested? Please send your CV and cover letter by Friday, May 24, 2024, to Lucas Asselbergs, Head of Studium Generale at studium.generale@tue.nl. For more information about this role, you can also contact this email address.
