But is this justified? Leadership expert Frank Schaper, fascinated by how influence and power really work, analyzed Trump's character, the role models who inspired the businessman and politician, and measured him against the dictator yardstick. By delving into Trump's mind, Schaper discovered an all-encompassing pattern in his thinking and actions. One that helps explain his bold moves on the world stage, from his approach to Russia and Ukraine to trade battles and territorial ambitions in Greenland and Venezuela. It also provides insight into how Trump was able to attract and retain so many followers for his MAGA movement. Delusions of grandeur, power retention, enemy stereotyping, propaganda, and corruption already surfaced during his first presidential term. So: has he become a modern dictator by now? About the speaker
Frank Schaper is an independent leadership trainer and personal coach. He is the author of nine books on personality, leadership, life stages, self-confidence, and burnout. He graduated cum laude as an aerospace engineer from Delft University of Technology in 1982. Together with his brother Bert, he went on to develop innovative concepts such as the Flat Globe map system and the NIKE GEO soccer ball (1988–1992). From 1982 he held several management positions at KLM before choosing a new course in 2001: working independently as an author, personal coach, trainer, and consultant. His books include Het Dictatorvirus (The Dictator Virus) and the trilogy The Great American Dictator, which is about the role models, character traits, and followers of the current president of the United States, Donald Trump.
