Face Perception and Prejudice

Whether we like it or not, we all are prejudiced. Professor Daniel Wigboldus (Radboud University) explains how computer technology helps in investigating prejudice and stereotyping. In this lecture he will focus on how we perceive others (especially their faces), and on how biased representations of social groups can be visualised.

Daniel Wigboldus is professor in social psychology at the Radboud University in Nijmegen and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. He researches the automatic influence of stereotypes and prejudice on our perception and behavior. Among others, he studies the influence of stereotypes en prejudice on our use of language, on our visual perception and on impulsive behavior.
