Get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at cutting-edge space research and development, where innovations shaping the future of space exploration are born. Whether you're fascinated by satellites, Mars rovers, or zero-gravity experiments, this trip will ignite your curiosity and inspire the next generation of STEM professionals!

At ESA ESTEC, you’ll embark on a 360° panoramic tour of the satellite test facilities and learn about the pioneering work being done in zero-g research, the Mars Lab, the Columbus space lab, and more. You’ll also see the ExoMars rover up close and explore ESA’s space plane and research into 3D printing for space. With over 2,700 professionals from 22 member states working at ESTEC, this excursion offers a rare glimpse into the innovative projects driving Europe's space ambitions.
This excursion is organized in collaboration with student team ASTER, the first space-related student team at TU/e. ASTER aims to inspire students and expand their interest in the Netherlands’ space agenda, showing how engineering students from all domains can contribute to the space industry. By collaborating with TU/e and companies in the region, ASTER seeks to undertake space-related projects and allow every student to engage with space missions.
Ticket reservation & important practicalities
- Only TU/e students, PhD’s and EngD’s can attend this excursion. To participate, ticket reservation using your TU/e email address is required. You can order a student ticket using the black order button on this page. There are a limited number of tickets available, so be quick to purchase your ticket, but only if you are sure you can make it. You can reserve a ticket up through Friday 15 November.
After registering, keep an eye on your email for further information and questions. We will ask for your nationality.
Please note: at ESA ESTEC you will be asked to present an original and physical (no digital scan) personal photo identity document (passport, driver’s license or national identity card). No ID = no access.
- Bus transportation from Eindhoven to ESA ESTEC, Noordwijk
While departure time and departure point are subject to change, assume that we will gather at 11:00 and depart at 11:15 from Eindhoven Central Station (unless notified otherwise). You will receive information about this via email by Thursday 21 November at the latest. You will be returned to Eindhoven after the program has finished. Assume departure at 17:00 at the latest. Expect to arrive back at Eindhoven Central Station around 19:00 (please allow for delays due to traffic).
- Food & drinks
You need to provide your own lunch. You may want to bring something to eat and drink for the bus trip.
