What has keys but can’t listen to the beauty it unlocks? A piano. Fortunately, you yourself are able to experience this beauty during a relaxing lunchtime concert, performed by pianist Alexander Chater.
Let’s drift away on beautiful classical sounds this afternoon. For classical music connoisseurs, Alexander Chater will play Franz Liszt’s ‘Apres une lecture du Dante’, ‘Fantasia quasi sonata’ and ‘5 moments musicaux’ by Franz Schubert.
Alexander Chater is of South African descent and was introduced to classical music at a young age by his mother and two grandparents who were all performance musicians. His grandfather was a musicologist and composer in addition to being a pianist. When Alexander was 4 years old, he received his first piano and violin lessons. Before he started his studies at the conservatory, he had lessons from Nominated pianist Julia Achkniazy.
In 2017, he started at Codarts Rotterdam where he studied classical piano with Stephane de May. He has performed at many venues and has developed his own concert series: Fabriekklassiek.
