On 18 September 1944, Eindhoven was liberated from the German occupation as one of the first Dutch cities. This year the first liberation festival of Eindhoven is finally taking place. On 20 September in the center of town. Celebrate together with your friends and other fellow citizens that we can live in freedom.

First edition liberation festival Eindhoven
This year students studying in Eindhoven, united in the Liberation 040 Foundation, are organizing the first edition of LIBERATION 040. The first liberation festival, just for Eindhoven. A festival to celebrate the liberation next to the annual commemoration on September 18th. Free and open for everyone.

Studium Generale is one of the organizing partners of this festival. The TU/e one of the sponsors.

Freedom is not self-evident
With this festival we increase the awareness of the Second World War and the liberation of Eindhoven. We make a connection between past and present, bring the subject into the awareness of younger generations and discuss the question: what does freedom mean to us today?
