Beware of spies! sold out

AIVD
Tuesday, October 1 2013, 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM (sold out)
Blauwe Zaal Auditorium

For entrepreneurs brilliant ideas, research information and knowledge of the market are essential for business. But competition looms. Business competitors and also governments try to obtain important information and, unfortunately, some do not hesitate to use espionage.

Industrial, corporate and economic espionage are all forms of espionage conducted for economic purposes, but also for military purposes. From tapping phone calls and meetings and screening e-mails to hacking databases and computer systems. The role of technology becomes more and more important. On the other hand espionage often is about people. Fake applicants who collect information during their probationary period and employees who are headhunted by competitors are popular.

The Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service (Algemene Inlichtingen en Veiligheidsdienst, AIVD) informs and advices companies and knowledge institutions about the forms and risks of espionage in the field of science, technology and economics by foreign Intelligence and Security Services and other state actors.

Exclusively for TU/e employees and students.
Registration is required before 27 September.
